Had one of these on standby figuring that it would be enough to get by on if the power went out. Well.....after Sandy I realized that you need a "bigger" generator to have lying around after such storms. Especially when the weather is getting cold. What this generator did do was run for: a) 8 hours at a time on a gallon of gas b) power a freezer, full size fridge, coffee pot, some lights etc. without a hitch!!! I couldn't be happier with this Yamaha generator. I actually bought another one to run in parallel if needed. It is really the most versatile portable power option that you buy.
